Welcome to Our Mountain Home
Our wonderfully unique Bed & Breakfast is located on a 125-acre
farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern
North Carolina. We are just down the road from the Blue Ridge
Parkway (milepost 246). Guests enjoy staying in a 110 year-old farmhouse,
where a mountain stream runs through the middle of the living room.
Breakfast is included and our friends are hard pressed to decide
on what to eat, since they must select from seven
different menus and a dozen varieties of freshly-ground Kona
coffee.
WE ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS
We are replacing our heating system, upgrading the kitchen area and more to better serve you. Check back with us in late Summer 2010 for an update. Thanks for your patience!
We want our guests to relax - that's the whole idea
when you come to the a mountain getaway. But there is also a lot
to do in the area. Located on the same property as the Bed and Breakfast
is Thistle Meadow
Winery. You can take a tour of the winery, enjoy the tasting
room (where you can sample from over 40 different wines), and you
can even arrange for your stay at the Bed & Breakfast to be
a winemaking getaway, where you can stay for 7 days or a long weekend
and make a batch of your own wine to take home.
What Should I Bring?
What you will need depends on the time of year that your decide to visit our mountain top getaway.
Whatever the weather don't forget to bring your camera and some old comfortable walking shoes.
Spring: Be aware of late snowstorms. . . . Be prepared for anything!
Summer: Expect warm days (but NEVER over 80 degrees) and cool nights
(bring a sweater or light jacket. Remember, our elevation is over 3000 feet!).
Humidity is virtually zilch compared to the flatlands.
Fall: It can get pretty chilly! You'll need a sweater and a jacket.
Winter: Better bring your long handles (that's a Southern expression for long underwear!). A pair of gloves, warm boots, and a knit hat are a must.
